Blog Topics – How To Find Good Blog Topics
Blog Topics – How To Find Good Blog Topics
Having a successful Blog is much more than just writing down what comes to mind. You have to capture your readers attention and write about Blog topics that will interest them, and not just what interests you. If you wish your Blog to be successful, you have to think of Blog Topics that will capture their interest and keep them on the page.
Below you will find some easy ideas on how to find good Blog Topics.
- FORUMS – Forums are great places to find good Blog Topics. I regularly ‘stalk’ Warriors Forum for ideas for this Blog. I get involved in the discussions, and read others, which in turn gives me plenty of ideas of what to write about. This Forum is BRILLIANT for the Internet Marketing Niche.
- KEYWORD RESEARCH – I use Google Keyword tool to see what is popular for my particular niche. I then try to find keywords that have lots of searches with low competition. I will then write a Blog Topic based on my findings. Research is the key!
- VISIT OTHER BLOGS – I will quite often visit other Blogs in the same niche to see what they are writing about. I never steal their material, but getting ideas on what is popular is the goal. You will also learn a lot by doing this and then you can pass on what you have learnt to your readers.
- READ ARTICLES – Reading Articles is a FANTASTIC place to find great Blog Topics. I have thousands of Articles that I can read, all of which give me lots of great ideas on what to write about. No collection of Articles? Easy, just head to some popular Article sites such as Ezinearticles and GoArticles and take a look around.
- GOOGLE POPULAR WEBSITES – Instead of just reading Blogs, do a search for other websites in your niche and see what they are writing about. There is so much information online, you’ll be sure to get some great Blog Topics.
- SLEEP ON IT – If all else fails, go to bed with a clear head, and start again the next day. Sometimes I’ll get writers block and there is nothing I can do. I’ll just forget about it for that day, and get back into it the next. Quite often I will wake up with some fresh ideas, and the writing will just flow.
I hope this helps you with deciding on some good Blog Topics. There are many other ways, but the ones I have listed seem to work for me every time.
Please feel free to add to this list if you have some good ideas.
Till next time,
Happy Blogging
Michael Harrington

So as the last tip suggests, it will just come to you later on. Well, I guess this can be a sort of a eureka experience. But I’m quite positive that doing this can really help you to discover good topics to blog. To be fair, I admit I love this idea since it helps.

Hi Godwin,
Hope it helps.
Hey Michael,
Fantastic list of ideas for blog topics!..and timely for me too! I’m actually putting together a blog similar to this (kinda 101 style to help people with blogging ideas).
I really like your idea to “sleep on it” – this is one I haven’t heard many people talk about but it’s one that I personally do. I just go to bed thinking that I’m going to wake up fresh with ideas and BAM – it’s like a prayer was answered or something.
Great stuff! Keep em flowing!!

Hi Wendy,

Love these tips Michael.
Some solid research around the niche or subject your blog covers will always throw up plenty of potential topics.
These days I’m using strategies like 2, 3, and 4 along with listening to social media and comments on mine and other blogs. That’s followed by some diligent keyword research (as you mentioned in #1).
This way I can create posts which I know people are looking for, and get them ranked quickly on Google.
